When learning to play the guitar, on your own or with the help of a professional guitar teacher, you will need to do so with the help of guitar sheet music. This sheet music is basically printed music notes for playing the guitar and to become a professional guitarist. Guitar is played following two types of musical notations; standard notation and tablature. It is based on these notations that you know which notes to play on the guitar. In standard notation, notes are written in a five line, musical staff. You have to know how to read these notes, each having a specific beat, and locate them on your guitar.
In tablature notation, you are shown where to position your fingers on the guitar and are made of six horizontal lines depicting the six strings of the guitar. There are numbers found on the lines which correspond to a fret on the guitar. This sheet music is easier to use as it has a clear cut picture of the fretboard.
